LTC But Easier
LTC │ A Better Answer Than “It Depends”
Long-term care planning gets complicated quickly, and “it depends” rarely satisfies a client with questions. The new Thompson Long-Term Care Insurance Guide gives you a clearer place to start.
The guide breaks down four common LTC strategies:
- Dedicated long-term care protection
- Life insurance + LTC hybrid solutions
- Annuity + LTC strategies
- Life insurance + LTC or chronic illness riders
It also covers claims and design considerations and field underwriting, and includes a client-friendly format you can personalize for your conversations.

New Features on Customer Portal
Customer portal now gives your clients more self-service options
On November 7th, a new customer portal is launching, with enhancements to make managing policies from the Banner Life family of companies (Banner Life Insurance Company and William Penn Life Insurance Company of New York) even easier.
Please note: As part of the transition to the new portal, the current customer portal will be unavailable from 10 p.m. Friday, November 6 through 5 p.m. Saturday, November 7.
With this update, customers will be able to:
- Manage their contact details, including communication preferences and name changes.
- Update their beneficiaries and contact details for beneficiaries.
- Manage payors along with communication preferences and points of contact
- Set up automatic payments or schedule one-off payments.
- Add and edit linked bank accounts to make payments the way they want to.
Your customers will have access to these enhancements upon registration (existing customers will need to register for the new system).
We’ll promote the changes to customers early next year but wanted to give you a heads up, just in case you get any questions. We’ll be adding more features in 2027, along with demos and training to support you, so keep an eye out for updates.

Your IT Company Fixes the Systems. Who Handles the Breach?
A small business data breach response usually starts with one phone call: “Get our IT company on the line.” That is the right first call. It is also where many firms stop planning. Your IT provider can work on the systems. Someone at your firm still has to decide who…
